I've finally found a good substitute for that old sketchpad of mine. Guess what? It's called ivory cardboard! Alternatively something called bristol cardboard. It works great with pencil portraits as well as "stomping" on. I love it! Infact, I'll get going on another portrait this weekend :)

OK, three weeks after that I filled up my old sketchpad to the fullest (no sheets left!) I started a crusade to find an identical sketchpad. The reason is simple: other pads have either been too grainy or too fine; the charcoal looks quite bad when smudging it on other pads. I began by buying a terrible pad for about £10 which is makes my drawings looks awful. Two weeks later I finally found my old original pad and ordered one. In additionally two weeks later I finally got them [today]. Turns out that despite that the sketchpad is identical to the manufacture and everything it is way too grainy, still! Now I really don't know what to do,
